Welcome to our class webpage
On this webpage you will find current skills we are working on, skills we are reviewing, and other notes. Please check this webpage at the beginning of every week to see what social skills your child is working on in our class. Although this webpage focuses on our social skill curriculum, please know that we regularly work on math and reading skills that correlate with Ms. Vatral's instruction. If you have any questions regarding this webpage, things we are working on, or how your child is doing, please feel free to email me at cdibble@mcsdga.net or call the school at 706-748-3072. As always, thank you for support!
Notes for the Week:
This week we will be discussing how to compromise with others and why it is important. Please review our language for this skill below. Role-playing the right way and wrong way of using this skill will help your child appropriately engage in play with others. We will review this skill when we come back next week as well, since this is such a short week. As always, thank you for your help and have a great week!

telling the other person what I want to do
doing some of what the other person wants to do AND then doing some of what I want to do

- "It was nice talking to you, but I have to go. See you later!"
- "I will talk to you later."
I introduce myself to people I don't know by...
- waiting for a pause
- walking up to the person and making eye contact
- staying 1 arm's length away
- saying, "My name is____." Then saying, "What is your name?"
- saying, "It's nice to meet you" and shake hands.
**This helps me meet new people!
I know when to stop talking by...
**This makes people want to talk with me.
I ask someone to play by...
finding something to play with
walking up to someone I want to play with
getting the other person to look at me
asking, "Do you want to play?"
**I should try this with a lot of different people to make a lot of friends!
I join someone in play by...
deciding if I want to play with them
walking up to the person and waiting for a pause in their play
asking, "Can I play too?"
I share with people by...
letting them use something I have
saying, "yes," when a friends asks to share
We share because...
